These are programs that allow the fans, riders, and stock contractors to all get involved in the sport in different ways.
Top All-Time Money Earners
The PBR has turned the old stereotype of bull riding from a hobby, which barely pays the riders’ entry fees, to a true profession allowing cowboys to make a real living. The following bull riders can claim that competing in the PBR has made them millionaires, in some cases over the span of just a couple of years.
Built Ford Tough World Champion Million Dollar Bonus
Each year the PBR World Champion is determined by the most Built Ford Tough series points earned throughout the season. The Million Dollar Bonus will be awarded to the PBR rider earning the title of World Champion upon completion of the BFTS season, including the PBR World Finals.
Enterprise Ride With The Best
Each round, the previous Built Ford Tough Series long-round winner will ride for the Enterprise Ride with the Best bonus. If the rider covers his bull, he will receive a $5,000 cash bonus, however, if the bull launches the cowboy before he can cover 8-seconds the $5,000 bonus will go to the bull's stock contractor.
The Professional Bull Riders Ford Super Duty Challenge
Ford is proud to sponsor the 2008 PBR Ford Super Duty Challenge, which gives the winners of the 33 Built Ford Tough Series regular season events a chance to compete at the World Finals for a 2008 Ford Super Duty Truck. The rider with the highest average during World Finals wins the new truck.
Ford Truck Moment of Truth
The average leader going into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round (short round) has a chance to win $5,000 in the Ford Truck Moment of Truth. The leading rider wins the bonus money if he goes on to win the event. If he doesn't win, the prize money increases by $5,000 each event until someone is successful.
Cabela's World's Foremost Ride
The rider who achieves the highest marked ride at each Built Ford Tough Series regular season event during the BFTS regular season will be awarded a bonus of $1,000 for the event. The rider who achieves the highest marked ride during the entire BFTS regular season will then receive $25,000, while second and third place finishers will be awarded $10,000 and $5,000 respectively. The rider who then achieves the highest marked ride during the course of the World Finals will earn an additional $10,000.
Daisy Rookie Bonus
The Rookie of the Year award is given to the bull rider who earns the most money during his first season in the PBR. A rider is considered a rookie if he debuts at a Built Ford Tough Series event at any time during the season. Prior to 2003, it was awarded to the rookie bull rider who amassed the most points during his rookie year.
Salem Nationalease Bull of the Event
The Salem NationaLease High Mark Bull bonus is paid to the stock contractor who owns the bull that receives the highest bull score at each Built Ford Tough Series event (excluding the BFTS World Finals). The bonus is $1,250 each week.
Zantrex 3 Insta-Shot Grudge Match
At both two and three day Built Ford Tough Series events during the regular season the previous event's winner will get to choose another rider to match against. Then the PBR Stock Director picks two of the rankest bulls he can find and a coin toss determines which rider gets to choose first! The rider with the highest score from the one ride gets the $5,000. If neither rider successfully rides than the $5,000 is rolled over into the next Insta-Shot Grudge Match.
Copenhagen Bull Riding 90 Point Club
During the season, each PBR contestant who scores 90 points or more at a Built Ford Tough Series event will proportionately share $90,000 in bonus money. This bonus is distributed upon the conclusion of the PBR World Finals. The portion of the bonus money each contestant receives is based on the number of 90-point or higher rides they have for the year.
In addition, for each 90-point ride that a stock contractor’s bull makes, the stock contractor receives $1,000 provided courtesy of two sponsors -- $500 from Copenhagen and $500 from B&W Hitches.
Bull Team Challenge
The concept is simple - the first ride at each Built Ford Tough Series event from up to five bulls per team is added to that team's total score. The entry fee is $50,000 per team and the winner at the end of season takes home $250,000.
