ONTARIO, Calif. (September 26, 2009) - Kody Lostroh was actually given an 86.5 in Round 2 in Springfield, breaking the 5th and 6th place tie with McKennon Wimberly at 86 points. The correction did not affect the final standings, nor would it have affected his selection in the short go. However, instead of 55 bonus points for the tie, Lostroh earned 60, giving him an additional 5.5 points for the event. As a result, the current leader atop the World Standings now has 10,415.5 points. Brendon Clark and Cody Campbell are both scratches from this weekend’s event in Ontario. They will be replaced in the draw by Matt Werries and Travis Sellars. Pete Farley is also out with an injury.
Mike White returns to the Built Ford Tough Series for the first time in several months after recovering from a shoulder injury. The oft-injured veteran – he was the 1999 PBR Rookie of the Year – said he’ll wait until the conclusion of the year to decide his future.
Last week, Guilherme Marchi earned his second BFTS win of 2009 and the 13th of his career. Lostroh and J.B. Mauney each have four wins this year. Lostroh has seven career wins compared to nine for Mauney.
There are three rematches in Round 1, and in all three cases the rider is looking for revenge. Bryan Richardson bucked off Hootie a few weeks ago in Reno, while Reese Cates did the same on Curveball. Matt Bohon had the same outcome a year ago in Anaheim on Stump Whiskey. However, Richardson did receive a re-ride option his first time on Hootie.
There have been four event winners in five events since the summer break – Lostroh, Mauney, Cody Ford and Marchi – and in each case all four had at least one BFTS win in the first part of the 2009 season prior to the break.
The top three riders in the world – Lostroh, Mauney and Marchi – have accounted for four of the five event wins since the summer break.
Ontario is the fourth BFTS event in California this year. That’s twice as many events as any other state, including Texas.
To this point, Lostroh has won two events in California (Fresno and Anaheim), while Zack Brown won in Sacramento.
Sean Willingham has quietly ridden his way into 6th place in the world standings and is now just over 400 points out of the Top 5. L.J. Jenkins has been the other mover. He’s now 13th in the world, but is nearly 1,000 points outside of the Top 10.
There are eight riders – Beau Hill, 41; Billy Robinson, 42; Sellars, 43; Dusty Ephrom, 46; Elliott Jacoby, 47; Matt Werries, 49; White, 51 and Bohon, 58 – who are bellow the 40th cutoff position in the Qualifier Standings, who are competing this weekend in Ontario.
The Top 3 riders in the World Standings account for 27 of the seventy-seven 90-plus point rides of 2009.
There’s a trio of riders – Lostroh, Marchi and Ford – who are riding right at 50 percent on bulls with scores of 45 points or better. Ford is the only one not ranked in the Top 10.
Cody Nance has extended his lead to more than $11,000 over Skeeter Kingsolver in the race for 2009 Daisy Rookie of the Year. However, Nance’s seven qualified rides is only fourth best among the rookies. Hank, Red Bull, Shotgun Willie, White Lies and Whiskey Town are the Top 5 rated bulls of Round 1 in Ontario. But, as expected, Troubadour is the top-rated bull of the entire event.
The high-marked ride of 2009 was when Lostroh rode Troubadour for 94.5 points in Fresno earlier this year. Tweet, tweet: Be sure to follow the PBR on Twitter at www.twitter.com/teampbr. —by Keith Ryan Cartwright

Major Payne laid down in the chutes, they got him up, but then he laid down again and as Austin said "He waded up". The judges gave Austin Meier a reride because he could not get Major Payne out of the chute. Austin rode Litte Bo for an 88.25.
